Hello! And a warm welcome from Mimi Shotland Fix!


My thirty-year baking career began from my licensed home kitchen. After two years I opened a small neighborhood shop and then eventually moved into a larger bakery and cafe. I never went to culinary school (but I did read cookbooks cover-to-cover) and learned as I went along.

Afterward, I worked in the corporate food world of R&D and created Baking Fix, a culinary and business consulting firm. When I became interested in a wider look at food issues I returned to school for an MA in Food Studies. Now, after many years of professional baking I’m back in my home kitchen combining all I’ve learned.
